Aaron Gruen

Aaron Siegfried Gruen is a Teaching Associate who joined Pansophy Education in 2024. Aaron is available to assist students across all STEM subject areas, with an emphasis on Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, as well as Music Theory. Aaron teaches remotely from the Northeastern United States, where he offers private virtual tutoring to Canada- and U.S.-based students.

Aaron has extensive experience teaching the MCAT, SAT, and various AP exams, having scored above the 99% percentile in all these areas. Aaron applies the psychological aspects of test-taking and learning, leveraging his experience as a high-performing athlete, concert artist, and student; helps students understand the logic behind questions and develop effective routines; and teaches students, in additional to academic substance, time-management and personal planning skills.

After achieving a 45/45 on the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Aaron earned his Sc.B. in Chemistry, and A.B. in Music, summa cum laude, from Brown University, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and earned highest honors for both his Chemistry thesis (on iron-sulfur clusters) and his Music thesis, which includes cello performance, orchestral conducting, and research components (on music by Holocaust survivors). Aaron has conducted research or assisted in hospital settings at Brown University, University of Minnesota, Bradley Hospital (Providence, RI), Miriam Hospital (Providence, RI), Klinikum Bogenhausen (Munich, Germany), and Quant IP (Munich, Germany). A community musician who frequently performs for free at hospitals, healthcare facilities, and prisons, Aaron is the founder of a free music school in Providence, Rhode Island. Before attending college, Aaron volunteered in the mental health space in New York City. During the height of Covid-19, Aaron volunteered at an intensive care unit in Munich. Between 2024 and 2025, Aaron is conducting public health research and running marathons at a professional level. In fall 2025, Aaron will matriculate at Harvard Medical School.

In addition to his medical studies, Aaron is both a professional cellist and a professional marathon athlete. He studied cello at Prazska konzervator (Prague, Czech Republic) and taught the instrument at Moses Brown School (Providence, RI) and Buhne fur Menschenrechte (Munich, Germany). As a winner of the Brown University Concerto Competition, Aaron performed with the Brown University Orchestra. Aaron trains as a marathon athlete with Rhode Island Track Club and coaches runners privately. He is a winner of the Brooklyn Half Marathon (2024), Arizona Rock ‘n Roll Half (2024), Minneapolis Drumstick Dash (2023), Silversterlauf Munchen (2022), and RunRhody Providence Downtown (undefeated since 2021); a participant in the U.S. Marathon Olympic Trials; and a top-five finisher in the Elite category at the San Francisco and Providence Marathons.
